• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Does anybody know who can work on a uniden scanner? My bc796d volume doesn't work. I would have to turn everything down to hear it. I have tried an external speaker. That hasn't worked either. Let me know anything will help. I really don't want to send it out to Uniden.

maddogdecker,
Depending where you are in NW IN.
This place is just off I-65, I've used him and he's real fair.
You might give them a call before you do any traveling though.

Hey Tippie, Thanks for the info but that is alittle ways for me. I live over by Ft. Wayne. But I will call him and find how much he would charge and that. I mean I will travel over there if he has a good price. I'm always looking for place's that can fix scanners. I don't like going through Radio Shack. It took them almost a month to fix one of my scanners. I was hit with the bug that has hit the pro 2055. Thankful it was under the warrenty.
