Northern New York: USCBP (Border Patrol et al) needed

Will be traveling through Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Franklin county later this week and was wondering if there was any good, unencrypted border patrol traffic to listen to. Could anyone advise of frequencies and PL's/NACs? Also, is the old U.S. Customs Net1 w a PL of 100.0 still being used much up that way?

This summer 165.2375 was still analog with CTCSS of 100.0hz. Noticed lots of patrol boats and Helicopters out on the St Lawrence during long weekends. 163.625mhz might be worth a look at as well. From what i remember P25 is coming, encryption not confirmed.

RCMP (tasked with border patrol duties) on the Canadian side are on 421.7625 [123.0] and Canada Customs on 410.4625 [136.5]

Cool. Thanks for the info. Heard a little bit on 15.2375, but it's mostly India and Alpha units doing radio checks.

Sounds like there are lots of MDC type data bursts on 163.625 and once I heard: "640, radio check in analog". Interesting.

Colo(u)rs up here are gorgeous, although I think it will really peak in the coming days, unless it rains.

Damn... I knew I shouldnt of brought my scanners into the good old US of A.
so thats what all that enc is about I hear on the cbp freqs... LOL
