Well, about an hour ago the suicidal subject in the above post escaped, with help from a friend and girlfriend, from the Leesburg hospital mental facility. VSP just passed a BOLO on channel 4.

He is described an Arabic male, 20 years old, wearing a red top and bottom, and slippers. Left in a grey car.

Fully involved barn fire on Bloomfield Rd in Loudoun. Ops on 6C. Lots of units including ones from Fauquier county are responding.
Streaming audio is online. It's getting to be that time of year, that's why they have National Fire Prevention Week.

A nearby pond will be used as a water source.

2136- Already calling the barn and a neighboring structure total losses.

Rt 7 in the area of George Washington Pkwy and Rt 28. Wreck with entrapment, apparently knocked out the lights and/or some power lines. Traffic on both directions of Rt 7 is being diverted either to Rt28 or Loudoun County Pkwy. This all started close to 10:30pm. Just now rescue is requesting a helo, saying it will be an extended extrication (I'd say!). So far all helos are down due to weather. Ops on 6C and Sheriff East.

Man, 30 plus minutes into it & call for the chopper....?? Thats not a good sign, must be a heck of a wreck. On my way in this morning, I heard WTOP say it was still shut down, had no idea it was already 7 hours old...!!!

The extrication itself was easy.. the problem was the car had wires across it. You don't extricate prople from cars with live power lines on them :) Virginia power didn't have a single crew available.

The initial incident was over in about 90 minutes, the road was closed this morning so Virginia Power could replace the line.

I went by there about 3:00pm. The crew is still there with pole in place, now hanging wires. It is not affecting traffic at all.

Person Struck By Truck
Around 2460 Prince William PKWY (in front of the target)
Engine 520 first requested a HELO and CPR was in progress
About 5 minutes later Engine 520 wanted to disregard HELO (Aircare I)
I am thinking the person died on the scene

Ops on FD 5C

House fire somewhere along Lawyers Rd. Gas line is on fire. Power lines are across Lawyers Rd. Ops on 4C

E402 on scene with nothing showing.
2124- Found some smoke, reporting no issue with wires.
2132- Establishing a command post on side 'C'.
2136- Command channel will be 4F
2148- A bunch of station swaps were just dispatched including Loudoun's E618 to Station 39.

Reportedly there was a hole blown out in the fuse panel at the house. At the same time there is a power outage in the Sterling area.

The FD has been investigating neighboring homes in the 10100 block of Lawyers Rd.

If the call for this had come in about 30 minutes earlier I'd have been on Engine 23 responding to it.. SO glad I got to sleep in instead :)

They're breaking down the operation now. Units are reporting to Station 9 for refueling before returning to quarters.

A Few Pics of the Tanker

I guess we had the easy part out there today, took us 20 minutes to set the truck up.
The rotator sure comes in handy, as you can see we worked from the downed side of the unit. We actually did a "reverse roll", looks easy don't it....????
