Search for a missing, possibly suicidal subject. His boat is missing from the yacht club. Fairfax-1 and others will be searching the Occoquan and Mattawoman Creek area. Ops on Ch6 TG 16944

0925- This event is ongoing. A friend of the subject was searching in his own boat and found the missing subject's boat near the Mattawoman Creek. There was no one onboard.

I was listening this morning, does not sound good. Found his boat & ran the numbers on it & confirmed it was the subjects, but no one was onboard. Hope the poor guy didn't go into the water....

Seems like they are back searching again for this subject. Ops on FFX. PD ch. 2,
(Mt. Vernon)....asking helo to look on shore lines again, police found a note, I'm
guessing from the man they are looking for. Anyone been monitoring this...??

Fatal wreck on Rt50 at Potts Mill Rd, just outside the east side of Middleburg. The car hit a tree, the driver was trapped and burned inside. The road is expected to be closed for hours.

Glad my tow co. does not haul out of that area, burn't up fatality vehicles are not
good to have on your storage lot. The lose of life in a horrific accident is not the easiest
thing to deal with....

House fire - 8831 Burke Rd

B405 has command

Fire in carport, on side B of structure. Exposure to the house and attic.

Firefighters inside report popping sound inside, possibly ammo going off.

2327 - B405 is requesting a 2nd alarm

Something's going on on Gallows Road / Lee Hwy, but I'm not exactly sure what

There's traffic on 4C reporting something about a propane tank on fire, but that's all I've got so far.

PD is closing Gallows Rd

Hazmat 434 and Hazmat support unit is enrt

Anyone have any idea what exactly is going on? So far, I've just gathered that it's a big propane tank on fire.

1611 - Ok, here's what I've got - 2 large propane tanks on fire, FD is venting tanks. They have evacuated all personnel, with the exception of E413's crew, from the "blast area". (and some jerk on IPN duped my page)

1617 - MetroTraffic plane reports FD is gathered around a large container that looks recently exploded. So, I assume that the fire is out now.

1623 - Command is reporting that the fires are out, but the tanks are still venting.

There's a condo construction site on Gallows Rd, between Arlington Blvd and Lee Hwy, I'm guessing it was there, but I'm not positive.

Fire on 4C/4D

Not sure exactly where, but it sounds like it's on/near whispering lane, in Falls Church (near Mason District Police Station).

I didn't catch the initial dispatch, so I don't know the specifics, but I think that it's a 2 alarm.

Actually, now they're placing the 2nd alarm in service, so I guess the fire is out, and they're just waiting for investigators.

Short Persuit in Mason District of Fairfax

They were in persuit for about 2 minutes, until the car came to a dead end, and the suspects gave up.

Started on Columbia Pike, they went under rt 7, turned on Carlin Springs, and went all the way down carlin springs, until it dead ended at the moose lodge, and they gave themselves up.


Now, if only they'll catch the jerk who hit my car as it was parked last night . . .

WTOP news said that there was a structure fire. My bus got stuck in traffic. We were going northbound towards Tysons Corner.

Things that I noticed: The traffic cones directed the bus onto Porter. The traffic lights near Porter and and Gallows Rd. were flashing. A traffic command vehicle was blocking part of the intersection. Lots of fire and ambulance vehicles in the parking lot next to the Silver Diner. The firefighters were leaning over something. I couldn't tell if it was a car or something else.

A fire engine was next to the construction site and the hoses were on the road.

Police motercycles drove on the sidewalk towards Lee Highway and Gallows Rd. An ambulance (maybe 418?) went northbound.

After the bus passed Lee highway at 5:20 PM, I saw light and air 413 going south.

Only a few cars were going south on Gallows. Traffic going wesbound on Lee highway was heavy.

I know there is a Merrifield Garden Centre at Lee Highway and Gallows Rd. There is also some kind of propane exchange centre nearby. Sorry, but I don't remember the exact location of the propane storage tank. There is a Crown gas station near the Silver Diner.

That's all I remember. I'll take another look when I go to Merrifield again.

One of my drivers said he saw a pic in the paper & it looked like a truck hauling
some propane tanks. I have looked & looked, can not confirm this.

Fauquier co. out building fire, large explosions and a large brush fire. Started around 1210. About six companies called. This is between Bealeton and Remington. Luck Hill rd.

Yes, Lucky Hill Road, sorry. They finally declared the fire under control around 1600 hrs. Ended up with several forestry units and a Helo on the scene.

Pursuit in Loudoun Co. Braddock Rd eastbound, now southbound on Pleasant Valley. Possible narcotics charges.
2210- Suspect in custody at Pleasant Valley Rd and Blueridge View Dr. Just as FFX-1 was getting into position.

Just a short time ago Fairfax was chasing a motorcycle southbound on Rt28 into Manassas. They lost it, but FFX-1 kept looking.

They tried to stop the motorcycle to question the rider about a fatal bike accident
in Clifton @ Henderson Rd. & Old Yates Ford Rd. Dude a sport bike lost control in the sharp curve ended up under a car. Witnesses said there were 2 bikes travelingtogether, so the accident reconstruction team wanted to know why the other dude rolled out. Sadly, the young man involved died unroute to FFX. Hospital

I got all this info first hand as my son, who drives for me, was working the accident.
I was out on my bike when he heard it go off on the scanner @ work......but I was cruising
down Rt.55 out of Marshall, actually heard my Nextel alert & let him know I was ok.

I heard about the crash in Clifton too. I missed the part where they said a bike was involved, but that's what I was figuring based on everything else I heard. I had a very good feeling there would be lots of crashes yesterday, so I stayed home and watch the Daytona races instead. There was one with minor injuries on I-66 near Nutley in the afternoon and two in the Leesburg area last night. I'll be riding today though.
