Fairfax County is now in condition 3. There are also numerous units from PWC, Arlington and Loudoun providing units to fill stations. It appears this is due to a major structure fire but I dont know the exact details. More to follow

The major fire was a 3 alarm townhouse fire in Reston at 11266 Fairwind way.

Now, what is condition 3?

WesFFXFire had the following to say in a previous post awhile back-

"Condition 2 is used during sudden busy periods like weather related problems or a major fire or just a lot of calls at once. It reduces some of the responses. However, it really doesn't change much with our new responses. It also eliminates the volunteer tones while in cond 2 Oh yeah, there is also a condition 3, which on most calls doesn't make a recomendation, so the on duty fire capt would tell the dispatcher what to send. This would be a major incident, I think on 9/11 we might have went to it..."

I believe there is a major crash westbound on I-66 at the 24.8 MM in Fauquier County. Loudoun sent some rescue units. A VSP asked that Richmond be teletyped to get more units. Right now the interstate is shutdown. A tour bus and a pickup are involved. The bus passengers are standing on the shoulder. There is another crash at the 23 MM.

Fauquier Co is out of my range tonight. All I can hear is VSP on 159.165.

VSP High Speed Pursuit

High speed pursuit on 66 East (Monday April 3, 2006)

530pm - Began Tracking Green Ford Escape East 66 near 495 split at 120mph
540pm - Car slows down to about 60mph in heavy traffic
543pm - Multiple Attempts to Box in Suspect
545pm - Attempt of Boxing in Suspect successfull on Rt. 66 west of Fairfax Dr.
546pm - Ambulance needed for an Officer

A large fire event at a restaurant. Ops are on 4E. I'm unsure of an address at this point, but Arlington County units are there. Media is on the scene, so I would expect to see something on the 10pm news.

At this point there is extensive use of saws, well there would be if they weren't having all sorts of problems with them.

Units I've heard on scene: E439, E413, E106, E430
Some are on Leesburg Pike.

Resturant fire in Falls Church
Ops on 4E
at the Chicken Out at Rt 7 and Haycock Rd (112 W. Broad St)

I don't know the details, I was eating dinner down the road, and saw E428 heading down rt 7, about 30 minutes later, I came up to it. Looks like it's knocked down, and they're checking for extension in the roof.

2023 - There's also 413, 429, 428, and 418 - and Canteen 403 arrived a few minutes ago

2025 - freqhopping - Any idea how many alarms?

2028 - 1hr 40mins into incident

2208 - 2hr 20mins onscene - everyone is picking up - E106 and T106 are staying onscene for investigation, and going to channel 1B. 4E is released.

That's true, he's awesome. I happen to work right across the streen from that resturant - kinda cool to hear your scanner, and realize that the guy who's talking is only a few feet from you . . .

In other news, take a listen to Fairfax Police channel 2/6 - the dispatcher on there is awesome, sarcastic dude, but very funny - he just made a reference to his crystal ball . . .

That's funny. I was in my garage working on my motorcycles, not really paying attention to my scanner but then I realized something was up. I have no idea when this event started, but seems like it was at least a couple alarms.

There really haven't been that many big events lately. Either that or I just haven't been paying much attention to the scanner.

Judging by the number of units onscene, I'd say definately a 2 alarm, possibly 3.

It has been pretty dead lately, maybe now that it's getting warmer, people'll start doing some more stupid stuff

Speaking of stupid people- a dispatch just went out for a big fight in Fairfax - Fair oaks area

Reports of 20 people fighting. half have dispersed. 1 person who got hit by a car, now on the ground, not moving, a woman screaming for help, and a "bang".

Rescue is enroute. PD is not onscene yet, so this could be bogus


2244 - I jumped the gun - no fight, just some idiots.

Foot Persuit in Vienna
FCPD Ch 8
Fairfax units involved in a short foot persuit of a felony hit and run suspect at Amphora resturant. Suspect last seen at Windover Ave / Lewis St NW - Vienna.

Fairfax 1 is onscene, checking the area. Fairfax PD is coordinating their efforts with Vienna PD, and all units on the incident are on Fairfax Police Channel 8.

Suspect is described as W/M or H/M//5ft 8in - 5ft 10in//155-160//blk hair//no shirt

801A thinks that they have a suspect//suspect just took off running//FX01 is tracking

0337 - 801A currently in foot persuit of that suspect

0340 - Rolling/Nutley - Susp in custody - unknown if it's our guy - he doesn't exactly meet the description, but it sounds like he's pretty close - they have the original unit enrt to check

0341 - Positive ID. Sweet.

2nd Alarm in Pr. Wm. County

Old Carolina Rd. @ John Marshall Hwy.(Rt.55).......14411 Block

2nd alarm struck on arrival.....2 structures, a garage & brush on fire.

Rode the bike to work, turned on my street & saw a heavy colum of black smoke.....grabbed the scanner & here you have it.....LOL

7006 Old Carolina Rd. is the actual address.....fire knocked down, putting some unit's back in service.....no injuries

Fairfax County is getting their helicopter up for an incident in West Springfield district:

9185 Furey Rd, Lorton
FCPD Ch 4/7

Call came in as a weapons brandishing complaint - a woman saw 3 men in a vacant house, one pulled a handgun, and then she saw another one fall down - but didn't hear any shots or anything. Somehow, the number of people has now jumped to 6-7. Officers are setting up a perimiter, and Fairfax 1 is enroute

1 unit is out with a suspect @ cochburn / royal robin rd - 1 now in custody - susp is armed

1755 - Other suspects last seen headed south, towards Lorton Rd - HELO is going to be looking for them.

1801 - positive ID on the armed suspect - HELO hasn't got anything on the other ones so far

I didn't catch the initial dispatch, but a taxi driver was shot. Probably in a robbery.

Suspect is a Black Male suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
VSP is checking 495 @ Gallows area

The President will in Sterling tomorrow morning touring the business where my sister works. It's already in the news so its no secret. He should get there at 10am.
Expect to hear I-66 and probably the Dulles toll road exits getting shut down prior to the motorcade coming through. He would then go up Rt28 to Sterling. The route makes the most sense anyways.

Ops should be on VSP 159.0 and 159.135 and Fairfax, Loudoun, and possibly MWAA TRS. I would expect FFX ops to be on one of the Motor Ops channels (16032, 16064, 16096). Loudoun ops could be on Tac 2 (1722), Special Ops/Motor (1904) and Joint 1 (2256). Joint 1 was used a few months back when the Pres was visiting JK Moving nearby.

It's always great for traffic to have the Prez visit locally uh ? LOL

When President Bush visited JK Moving it was a fiasco the evening prior to his arrival. His security detail did a sweep of JK's place & decided to relocate a few cars/trucks that were parked there. Some of the cars were those of employee's that was on the road working, & a few were just "in the way".....so when JK called @ 9:00 p.m., I had to send 3 wreckers to them, as we provide towing services for JK.
My guys were a lil suprised, but excited to be involved in the Presidents visit.

Reception where I work sucks so I couldn't hear Loudoun at all. All the motorcade ops I heard were on Fairfax's MOPS-1 (16032). But during the motorcade times I saw a TGID that I haven't seen before, 19424. It was encrypted too, so I believe it could've been a coordination channel between the Secret Service and FFX PD.
