I would say a new VHF Hi frequency for Fire/EMS dispatch to replace 46.50 but the TRBO emissions designator makes it seem like it is something else.

I can see location #2 out my window. I had assumed it was a cell tower because there's the usual panel antennas and a Windstream fiber line running to it, so apparently they're co-locating on it. I haven't been close enough to it lately to see if there's actually a new antenna on it yet.

Last week I noticed that there was now a BIG microwave antenna on the tower, pointing south. So I got out the binoculars and I can see three VHF antennas mounted on the side of it. I haven't had time to monitor for transmissions yet.

No merger with Union county. Northumberland is going to a 3 channel P25 phase 1 system with a analog channel for voice paging.

I've been hearing a lot of testing on 151.1450. Plenty of pager tones and voice testing. It's been taking place during working hours every day since Wednesday. The signal sounds pretty strong in Berwick. Are they getting ready to use it for real?

What is the status of the new Northumberland County P25 system? Any update? I haven't seen any postings in a while.

Yes, The Northumberland County Department of Public Safety's new P25 Digital Phase I Trunking system is fully operational and yes, testing is taking ace now and gas been for 2 weeks on the system grid testing.

There are over 4,000 grids that need to be tested with pager, portable, mobile inside and outside of vehicles and in buildings.

Like I stated, the P25 system is full operational and new mobiles are now being installed in the apparatus and PD vehicles. They expect grid testing to wrap up this week with completion by Friday.

Expected cutover to the new system is expected the 2nd week of January 2017.

So far there has been no failures in the grid testing and everything sounds excellent including the analog voice simulcast system and the P25 side of the project.

There will be other "outside" users of the new P25 system when I comes on line, those other users are none public safety users.

More updates soon.

Just an update. As of 12/8/2016 all field testing of pagers and radios has been completed. The next step is now the technicians are programming all the tones into the new system for fire/ems dispatch. Once thst is done, training of the dispatchers on the new system will start to take place around the 20th of this month and then training of the field users after that.

Testing showed the new system functioning 100% with no issues seen. Cutover to the new P25 and full VHF high band paging systems is still online for the 2nd week of January 2017.

So... 151.145 is the analog channel, but who has the details on the P25 system? I don't see it in the database here yet.

As far as system info for WACN and HEX info, that will be under lock and key. The system frequencies could be found under the Northumberland County Department of Public Safety web side, Radio Project info.

Training of the dispatchers should start this week and then field uses shortly there after. Mobiles and portables are now be programmed by the county and a radio vendor.
