I just got my copy of the NWFD in the mail the other day. I was worried that I had wasted my money on outdated info or info that I could find for free on this site. I can now honestly say that I think it was some of the best money ever spent. Even tho the frequencys and talk groups can be found here on RR (and in all likly hood are more up to date than any book) it makes a great pocket reference. It goes into detail about all sorts of interesting and useful info from what types of fire trucks there are and what their capacity is to info on police codes for diffrent areas and what they mean. I'm not trying to advertise for them but I did want to say that I was very happy with the book and if you are someone who has been holding off because you wern't sure if it would be worth it, you should buy it and check it out.

:)

Yes, it is a GREAT book. Lots of handy information. Besides, what happens when your internet connection or your power goes out? No access to Radio Reference!

How is the guide for covering rural areas or Oregon, ie: Eastern? And is it strictly law enforcement/fire/etc. or does it cover any business/commercial stuff?

There is a map on the site showing which counties are covered.

Also, there are statewide and federal listings in the beginning of the book.

As far as business and commercial info, it's pretty limited. Mostly public safety and public safety related.

Still, it's a great reference!
