I could use a little guidance. I am wondering if something has changed with our agencies, or if I've messed something up in my settings somehow. I have a uniden BCD325p2 scanner and dabble with it from time to time listening to washington county utah. I used to get a lot of activity on the highway patrol, police, and occassionally the fire. last few times I turned it on its very quiet.

I use proscan to import from radio reference, then download to the scanner. Is there a way to know if the agencies have gone to a different system that perhaps I can't listen on?

Sorry for the newbie question, but thanks for any guidance.

Upload your programming file to here and let folks look at it, Lots of changes in Utah the last few months. Also are you in St. George, or some other community?

You might also want to use the Report link, and ask the post to be moved to the Utah Discussion group.

All four Washington County Law Dispatch talkgroups are full-time encrypted. You will not be able to receive them. Is that the issue?

Thanks for the replies. Heres the database file. If they've gone to encrypted, maybe that's the problem.

You might double check down in your state (Utah) forum for input from someone in your area. But looking at the change history on the P25 Phase II system in use in your area, I see comments dated 6/9/25 (a little over 10 days ago) regarding updates to talkgroups associated with your county (Washington) including updates for encryption status on four talkgroups. So, the change to encryption may have been made fairly recently. You were able to hear them, I presume, up until they switched to full time encryption. On the old analog system, the county talkgroups were not tagged as encrypted. (looks like your query was moved down to your state forum after I first read it.)

Came up empty for me as well. But it appears that the addition of encryption on TGIDs relative to the OP's location is the root cause.
Yeah, I PM him a programming file for Washington Co, with all the towers included, hopefully it works for him if he's not too close to St. George's simulcast system with the 325P2. He can quick key the towers off he can't receive.

You will hear other talkgroups there including Washington fire department. the bcd 325 p2 will briefly stop on the encrypted talkgroups and either make noise or like most unidens , briefly stop on it and move on and won't stay on it. You probably will hear Iron , Kane and Sevier counties more that anything out of Washington county other than the fire department... I have a bcd325p2 and I know how it reacts with encryption...

The only law traffic I heard on my SDS100 in St. George on Memorial Day weekend was "Law 9" which is Animal Control.
UHP in Washington County is dispatched from Cedar on "Iron County Law 1."
Otherwise, all you hear down there is Fire, DOT and Public Works stuff.
The encrypted tags did pop up regularly (Law TG's and Drug Enforcement) but nothing was heard.

Washington county has encrypted everything expect fire so no scan will work to hear fire you need a p25 TDMA radio now that is why it haws gone quite SlC pd and Weber county and Ogden have also Encrypted
