When I am scanning a P25 site, it holds on the site for a second or 2, then breaks for a second, then holds again, over and over again. However when I'm holding on a DMR Site, it holds continually. Is there a way to change the settings without changing the hild time (same on both DMR and P25 sites

How many sites are you scanning, and are you using Site Hold?

If you're only scanning one site, the scanner will disregard the "housekeeping" routine and remain locked solid on that site. If you're scanning more than one site, the scanner will perform the "housekeeping" routine every 2 seconds.

Of course it's also possible that you have something else enabled like Close Call or WX alert or whatever. But if your scanner has the latest firmware, and you are only scanning a single trunked site and/or are using Site Hold...then you should not be seeing it drop out (assuming you are receiving a solid signal, of course)

GTR beat me to it. I was just going to mention that there are a number of "Priorities" on the SDS100 (programmed, weather, close call). Watch out for those. GTR's reply much more on point.

Here's a couple videos showing what I'm talking about. The link is set to public, but let me know if you have trouble viewing them.

Weak signal, it's having trouble decoding. Anything lower than -100 RSSI is poor.

That behaviour are typical for interference from another frequency that transmits data burst, an idle control channel or similar. You can try IFX and different filter settings to that frequency and site. If the interfering transmitter are too close to you it wont help with any setting. As DMR on 400MHz are working as it should it cannot be any of the priority settings that are set.

Looks like Data is staying solid, DMR has the same signal strength. Are you missing transmissions? I see you are holding 1 priority talkgroup, if you go into ID Scan or ID Search are you missing replies?

Latest firmware? I seem to remember this behavior on older firmware on P25 systems.

I am using the Global filter on both sites. I can try messing with the different filter options. This has happened with the old firmware (not sure which version) and the latest firmware. I updated the firmware last week.

I think it was mentioned, but the scanner did some sort of "housekeeping" on previous versions of firmware, but was resolved with later versions. The symptoms you describe"could be" that.

After all that, I figured it out that it is still "housekeeping" because when I turned off a 2nd site for the P25 system, it holds steady now. I have firmware version 1.10.00 Sub 1.02.01. Is this the latest firmware? I just updated my scanner last week through Sentinel though so I would think it's the latest version.

Yes, that's the latest firmware.

What month is it?
I am using the Global filter on both sites.

But... what is the global filter set at?
Remember, the global filter is exactly that - GLOBAL.
Meaning, whatever the Global Auto Filter setting is set to in the main setup, will be the filter applied when individual sites are set to global.
