Must be the cold. Last post here was in July - after the thaw of 2003' freeze of the entire East Coast.

Have you heard the silence on the air?

Well I just got into scanning up here, and live in the Eastern central part of the state. Pretty much any area outside a 50 mile range of the greater Boston area (i.e. Nashua, Concord, Hampton, and Manchester), is not all that busy. Also, I have come to find out that most of the state, county, and local PD's have switched to digital, so this pretty much has moved a lot of us out of that scanning bracket. But I will bring the state of NH back from the deep freeze, don't worry.

I'll be the newest on the block. Just took my first scanner out of the box yesterday evening (BCT-396T) and have just started to look at the manual and see what's involved in using it. I'm well adept in the amater radio realm, but the scanning side of things and terminology will be new to me. I see that Uniden has released their software for this scanner, but it doesn't seem to be able to import any existing frequency lists. Now to enter everything by hand .... :)

Anyone in the Conway area an Elmer?

Hey I just started in the whole radio realm. I just bought a copy of, "Now You're Talking", and have made contact with the local amateur radio club. But I am wondering if anyone in this forum, is local to Conway, and would be willing to help a new guy, get licensed.

Hello,

Someone has posted some MA and NH usd files for the 396 on http://www.bcd396t.org

I am slightly north of boston but can pick up some of the NH SP and County stuff. I can barely pickup the Goffstown EDACS system.

73 Eric.
