Not Picking Up Anything In San Francisco

I am in SF for the week for business, programmed up my 396xt, using ARC, using the trunk frequencies in the database and I am not hearing a think.

I can hear San Mateo, BART's trunked, CHP (which is not trunked) but cannot pick up a single thing in SF. I am at Geary and 8th, the 396xt has a Watson W-801 ... works just fine.

Any suggestions?

Richmond station is on 6th and Geary. You should be getting something. If you had one of those radios with the zip code feature I would say enter 94118.

Make sure you're using the old SF Motorola Type II SmartZone System, and not the new P25 system, which carries only SFO traffic at this time.

I am pretty sure I set it for Moto, not P25. Now to remember how to check the system on the radio in the menu, but I don't think I set it for P25.

I'm saying there's two systems, one 800 and one 700.

You should be on the 800 mhz system.

Make sure you use the rebanded tabels.
