I have this scanner and have passively used it for about a year now. I know it typically works fine but recently programmed it from my Mac running parallels and Sentinal. Its scanning Michigans P25 system which I have set up for my local area only and I'm getting nothing picked up. The only traffic it seems to get is analog traffic, none of the digital stuff.

I have squelch set to 2... all other settings seem to check out on scanner.

When I programmed I did remove almost all of the extra cities that were listed under Michigans's public safety system so ONLY Midland county channels were in the scanner. Could that be an issue if I remove all the extra cities?

I also cleared the scanner and reset it in Sentinal. Also updated firmware and the database, etc.

Any ideas from the group?

Assuming you have a current database installed on your radio and you are in Midland County, try running a Zip Code scan with a range of 0 miles (you may also want to turn off Nationwide frequencies via the menu).

Once the radio loads and starts scanning, watch the display and get a sense (as much as you can) of what the radio is scanning (it will blink past most things really quickly).

At some point, you can then hit the SYSTEM button and hold on a (any) system.

Then, press SYSTEM again and quickly start rotating the top knob to step through the systems which are enabled until you get to the system of interest. The radio should stop on that system and display the system sites that are being scanned.

This is just a test to see what sites are in your area and what talkgroups are active on those sites.

The results might help determine next steps.
