BCT15X: Not Receiving

Hi I recently purchased a bct15x from ebay.
I have programmed it with various frequencies for London.
After connecting my external antenna to it which works amazingly with my Yupiteru mvt-7100, It does not stop on any channels whilst it is scanning.
The airband where I live is very active so I tried to do a service scan of the airband and still nothing.

The guy who I bought it from on ebay has 100% feedback for the sale of 200 or more items.
He listed it as used once then boxed back up.
The unit is in mint condition aesthetically and came to me looking like new.

Before I contact the seller about this I thought I would seek the help of the scanning community to see if maybe I was missing something.

See if attenuation is on.

Try a different antenna.

Dial in a broadcast station that is on the air constantly.

Consider the possibility the unit could have been damaged in shipping.

Attenuation is off.

I am listening to strong airband fequencie on my handheld with just a telescopic whip attached. I have the uniden on same frequency with external antenna attached. NO signal on the uniden even when I am listening to the same channel on the handheld.
