Folks,

I have received numerous complaints from news organizations about copyright infringement. Please DO NOT repost news stories in their entirety lifted from other news organizations. If you do, we will moderate your posts and remove the offending items.

The best practice and proper approach is to post an *excerpt* from the news story, and a link to the full article.

In addition, if you see a post where a complete article is reposted not following the above guidelines please report the post to a moderator.

Thanks for your cooperation.

This rule has been updated. Please see below for more detail and clarification to the original rule above.

This is effective site-wide immediately: All new threads posted which provide links to external news stories must include a link to the story and a snippet of the beginning of the article. Just the link will not comply. Provide at the most the first paragraph or enough to summarize the article. The thread subject should also effectively title the article being linked to.

Full articles, link(s) or not, are not permitted unless the author or site owner has provided permission to copy copyrighted material. Assume any content taken from someone else's website is copyrighted and not re-publishable in full. Any thread not following these guidelines will be deleted, with or without question, upon discovery.

If you have any questions please post a thread in the Forums Administration forum.
