BCD396XT/BCD996XT: Nothing heard!!!

I got my scanner today and upgraded my account to premium so I could use the freescan to its fullest,well...I did just as the video shows on the freescan website to program a trunked system into my scanner.
I clicked file..import..country,state,county.
The software brought up "simulcast" in the left box and a bunch of groups in the right box,I checked boxes,wichita police,Kansas highway patrol,sedgwick co sheriff and about 15 others,I then downloaded and closed box and then assigned each group a QK..plugged in the scanner to computer and clicked upload...showed the system uploading and then scanner began to scan"simulcast" but I hear nothing!
Also when i hit the WX key I hear nothing but if i go into menu and go to weather and scan i get it the weather ok.
Whats wrong here?
I live in wichita kansas
Oh it shows 1 error on the upload and it reads "comm log" no APCO Band plan available for simulcast"

Been working with this new scanner all night and the only thing I got to work was the Highway patrol but little hits..my old radio shack pro was much better than this boat anchor!
My old RS2026 pro had action every minute until the city went to this new system, then it stopped and Im affraid I just blew $400 on this thing!!!!!

kspilot, post this in the Kansas section. Sounds like you just need to know what to program your scanner. You should get some locals that could help you out.

Hi buddy,take a deep breath and relax lol,I been in your shoes before so I know what your going through,there must be some thing not programmed right for whatever reason, I have the same scanner and use free scan for programming,and I also do some with out the software,I never had a problem with trunked system except for one in the city of Waterbury ct which uses a band plan which the scanner drops once in awhile and I have to reprogram ,not a big deal there.

Anyway I looked at the highway patrol and witcita system and they are not tdma type 2 so that's not an issue,maybe try programming one of the systems by hand and see if it works out,

Hopefully someone from your area can help you out,this is great scanner once it's programmed right,it sounds like the software is screwing up something such as the simulcast if it's not a simulcast system

I'll take a look at the systems when I get a chance and what type they are

Update.
I am getting some wichita police on simulcast now but very few and some of the hits sound garbled.
The Highway Patrol sounds very good!
