• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I'm trying to program a trunked system into my new BCD396T. I have only the Michigan State Police and Ohio Police in it. If I hit hold it shows the frequencies and I'm able to scroll through them and the talk groups, however I'm unable to scan them. If I hit scan it says Scan Mode Nothing to Scan. I did see the sticky note but that doesn't pertain to me since its a trunked system. I'm new to the BCD396T and the trunking systems so I'm confused. I've been going through the manual and can't find anything of help. Still searching! If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks.

Michigan MPCS is preprogrammed with quick key 37 and Ohio MARCS is 48, you need to turn them on. If your not telling the scanner what to scan you will get the nothing to scan display. Page 44 of the manual.
