Quick question from a Jerseyite. Haven't been out to the plains since '09, and was wondering if State Patrol is now fully on the NWIN Trunked, or if the VHF Low is still in use at all?

Thanks all...

The state patrols old radio system was indeed VHF Low. HF is 3-30mhz.

:)

And yes, they are completely switched over. I believe they've even begun taking the VHF Low radios out of the cars--or are at the very least not installing them in the new cars.

I was talking to a scanner listener on the east coast the other day and he is fairly certain he heard NSP on one of the 42Mhz freqs recently during some skip. This observation was based on the freq and Nebraska roads referenced in the transmission.

man, wish i would have thrown my low band antenna back up on my trip (through nebraska) to new mexico last month.

Someone runs a facebook page thats related to the hastings scanner feed (Hastings Scanner 3.0), and i asked them a month or 2 ago how the state patrols new radio system is working out there. they replied "it isnt"

weather they actually know, or even own a digital scanner, i dont know. but i asked, and thats the answer i received.
