I have not been able to pick up any NSP transmissions on my Homepatrol scanner for the last several weeks? Is it my scanner or has something changed. I am a novice at this stuff, and would appreciate any information.

I am not very familiar with HP1, however, NSP went through talkgroup changes over the past few weeks, you may have out of date talkgroup info in your HP1, from which I understand is dependent on the RR.com database info. You may want to check what is programmed into your HP1 against the NWIN talkgroup database.

When I went through your area earlier in the month, Troop D had plenty of radio traffic.

If you need help getting to know more about your HP1, go here:

Uniden Scanners - The RadioReference.com Forums

Also, keep in mind NWIN is a Motorola SmartZone System, if there is not a Trooper/NFM etc.,"affiliating" to your nearest tower, you will not hear anything. The nearest tower for you should be Site 45-Cozad

Here is a good write-up about Motorola SmartZone and trunking altogether:

Troop D dispatch talkgroups changed about 2 weeks ago. Home Patrol programming pulls its info from the RadioReference DB that is updated once a week on the Uniden Website. New talkgroups are in the RadioRefernce DB for Troop D. If you haven't downloaded the DB to your Home Patrol in the last couple weeks, this is likely the cause.
