NSRS Carson City area

On my recent trip to the area I had excellent results monitoring the NHP (and others) on the Washoe Co. system.

In the Carson City and valley areas however, I assumed that I could monitor the NHP on the Carson city site using the information on RR, but I did not have very good results. The scanner picked up the control channel and I copied some traffic but it was obvious that one or more freqs were missing. I used the following freqs in the following LCN order:

855.9625
856.9625
857.9625
858.9625
859.9625

Was I missing something? Perhaps a different site would have covered the area I was interested in. Specifically I wanted to monitor the NHP along 395 from the stateline north into Carson City. Any info or suggestions for next trip would be appreciated.

JoeyC, The same thing happened to me on a recent visit. Unfortunately
we were short on time and I did not have much time to monitor. I used the same freqs and something was not right. Did see the correct talk groups displayed at times but it was not working correctly. As I remember, Reno uses one of these freqs and has a site just N/O CC.
Could this be a problem? Maybe someone could offer help? Norman.

I'm doing some plotting of the towers in Nevada on the NSRS. I've found some discrepancies.

Example: the Carson freq's listed above are on McClellan Peak right above my house yet I never here anything? Because of the proximity with Slide Mountain, across the valley, maybe the transmitters are very directional????

I'll keep you posted as I have a request to build a couple of banks with the entire NSRS for someone who travels Nevada regularly. I personally will be testing the 80 corridor to Salt Lake City in the next two weeks.
