There should be 2 Nevada Shared Radio System sites which aren't in the database, if anyone nearby can verify them:

WQBH325
Likely Mountain - Modoc County CA
854.9375
856.4125
859.4125

WRAG531
High Camp (Olympic Valley) - Placer County CA
856.2375
856.9625
857.9625

I am in the Reno area for a few days, and I am receiving a control channel ID'ing as Site 24 on 856.4875 with LCN 2. Total of 4 LCNs are being reported. An FCC license WPKJ526 includes that frequency at a tower site 13 km NW of Peavine, as well as 3 other channels. It's not very busy, but there have been channel grants. Any ideas?

800 makes me think it's the EDACS system, maybe? As of right now for the Phase 2 system it looks to be on 700mhz

I think he knows that. He's asking because the site isn't in the database.

The DB shows site 2-1 as Peavine/Red Hill Simulcast. Perhaps that's incorrect and/or there's a separate site on Peavine? Are you able to figure out the other LCNs?

Since the roads suck and I’m stuck in a hotel, I hope to work out the LCN order. It is EDACS.

There’s only 32 IDs just start at 1. Till you get your EDACS Radio working on it. That’s what I did in 2013 driving south to Vagas when RRDB didn’t have all of them

It only has four LCNs, and 2 is taken by the cch. So 1,3, and 4 are likey the only options since the site is only reporting 4 channels.

Looks like these are the freqs on the license. Maybe the LCNs are in reverse order, 1 thru 4 starting with the highest freq?

853.6625
855.4625
856.4875
858.4375

It appears that the other 3 frequencies on the license are not traffic channels for Site 24. I tried using the LCN finder function in my SDS: no joy - it only found the LCN for the control channel. I also scanned the 3 frequencies conventionally while watching activity on the control channel. When a channel grant was issued, the was no corresponding traffic on any of the frequencies entered into the scanner. I have noticed that there is traffic on frequencies that are not associated with any nearby sites, which indicates to me that there are more undiscovered sites in the Reno area. I'll try to post some screenshots of what I've found so far so that someone local can continue the detective work.

The above are the Peer / Neighbor sites for Site 24. Ignore the references to "Zone 3." Below is control channel activity over a few moments this afternoon:

This tower was recently built in the Cold Spring area of north Reno.

The building is complete, but I don't know if it's active. I find it strange that NSRS would build a tower in this area since we are line of site to Peavine.
I don't know why they would construct a new site but make it EDACS. It's not unusual to build entirely new tower sites in the same general area if existing towers are not up to current standards or have no more structural load capacity or leg space - or is addressing a coverage concern.

I checked out the Olympic Valley (Placer) site this afternoon, it was broadcasting on 856.9625 (site 1, channel 2) and announcing neighbors 5, 6, 9, 24, and 26.

I'm not sure how to add it to the DB since I don't know the region code. I suspect Region 2 but there's already a Site 1 Reno (Peavine/Red Hill Simulcast), unless that's wrong.
