Has anyone received the State or County 800 Mhz system in extreme north of Washoe County near the Oregon border, or in the Vya area? The DB lists no sites that could possibly reach that far north.

I’ve heard Gerlach VFD respond north towards Vya on Hwy. 447 for MVAs on the 800Mhz system and it’s spotty at best.
What was your location, and do you know what site you heard?

The Metro and Slide Sites *should* cover the county pretty effectively. I've only had to switch sites when going over into CA. Although I also have the State EDACS towers programmed in which overlap as well.

All WCSO in the North have satellite phones because the 800 EDACS is spotty. But when the new 700 P-25 TDMA AES-256 LLA. System will have 2 new sites to help the far north. And one in Spanish Springs on BLM land and no not Black Lives Matter.
Thanks for the replies. I know WCSO has satellite phones - don't know if they work well or not. 49 Mtn. near Vya is licensed for the system but may not be used. I may drive up there to see if any licensed sites are active.
