Although I don't think it existed originally with both of my 2055's (maybe I didn't notice). Both my 2055's, one base the other mobile seem to latch on to something at 33.94 and 33.92 about 25% of the time the devices are on. It does not seem to be location specific or related to other devices in their vicinity. The sound is not constant, more like an open mic with a little clicking
or popping intermittently. I do not hear this sound when listening with another type of scanner, same frequency. I though perhaps there might be
some sort of internal pot, variable cap, or what-have-you that I could nudge ever so slightly to move this sensitivity up or down the freq scale by even a few hundredths of a MHz. Thanx
