While driving to Shop Rite today lol I looked up and noticed a antenna tower on the old Salley's autoparts building. It looked weather beaten but it's still there...repeater tower??!! It's amazing when you look for stuff what you find.

I've done work throughout that building. The antenna was used when it was an auto parts store. The current business (moving and storage) does not have any radios in their vehicles or in the building

Nutley towers, washington school has something up there and the main repeater at the upper running track at DeMuro

LOL ok so back in the day Salley's used to use that antenna....My club did their field day at DelMuro park...I hope to be there next year.

Sally's was a great auto parts store, they did everything there. machine shop and knew what they were doing too. Even had their own little league team great guys there

I miss them they always had the part I needed for all my second hand cars back then...lol nice people behind the counters as well!!! Man Essex we know soooo many mutual people I feel like I know you!! Too bad your not into HAM I know a good local club!!!....LOL

Sorry Fuzy, didn't see the reply. Thought I had replies turned on for this thread. I had tons of Ham gear that I used for scanners but just never got my ticket. You may have known my cousin he lived in Belleville at the Branch Brook Gardens. he would have graduated in 87 but moved in 86 Artie C.

Probably do my brother graduated in 87 I knew tons of guys he went to school with. I joined the radio club in Nutley and just passed the technician class last night so I'm pumped. If you ever want to rengage or get into this hobby there guys are it and extremely local!! I have a few guys willing to help me program my HF!! If all else fails I go buy the PC cable,download the software from Kenwood,then I'll be off to the races but I want to Lear how to program it by hand for whenever I'm in the field without a PC funny iPads don't have USB jacks?! This little thing does everything but USB.
