I usually hear this in Orange county NY
Seems to be off the air or reduced power.
Storm may have affected it .
162.500 MHZ

KZZ31 is Hamburg Mtn, NJ...not a NY transmitter. And yes, it is off the air at the moment.

Kind of ironic that it goes down in the middle of a storm, right? :)
The whole idea behind keeping this antiquated system on the air was to be able to alert people during storms.

Yeah but now you can get that annoying alert on your phone that wakes you up in the middle of the night! More exhilarating than listening to NOAA on VHF....:LOL:
