I noticed for the last week I have not been getting my NOAA Weather Radio reception.

When I logged on the NWS site the Baltimore station KEC83 is shown as "Out of Service"/

Does anyone have any information about why it's OOS and when it will be back operating ?

Thanks.

The Station has not been out of service for months, I was listening to it on Wednesday when the storms were coming thru on 162.400mhz and just listened to it and it is still up & running. I have heard however that the station must be relocated, I don't know when that is going to occur.

Not sure why the disparity...

Currently, reception here in mid-town Bawlmer:

162.400 - receiving
162.425 - nada
162.450 - receiving
162.475 - nada
162.500 - receiving
162.550 - receiving, though it is drifting in and out (though the NWS web site says KHB36 is OOS a/o 18:15 today)

And remember, if you hook some scanners onto an outside omni antenna, you will definitely overload the front end. In order to receive some of the NWS transmitters, you will probably have to turn on the attenuation feature...
