NWS Overload afer putting up external antenna

The topic says it. I put up an external antenna this weekend and now the local NWS is really overloading the 155 - 159 area on the scanner (BC796). Is there a way to put the ATT on the weather channels? I tried, but it didn't seem to work. The antenna is working great and I'm pulling in stations that I didn't hear before, but I'm also getting the bleed and overload of the local NWS station on various frequencies as well. Any ideas? And no, taking the external antenna down is not funny (LOL)

Ah ha. And it's the 162 range of the NWS that is coming through. Aw heck, what's another seventy bucks (sheesh)..... Thanks for the tip!

If ANYONE needs a notch filter, this place is great. I received the following answer within about 5 minutes of emailing them. Oh yea, it was 10:30PM CST! If you check out their web site, they make a wide variety of good quality filters.

Thank you for the inquiry. Our VHFSYM162HT filter has a -35 dB notch at 162.55 MHz and a -3dB bandwidth of +/- 1.5% or +/- 2.4 MHz.
So, roughly the loss will be -3dB at 162.1MHz and 164.9 MHz and obviously less at freqs further removed. The filter has loss under -0.5dB in the 800- 1GHz spectrum.
