Hail Sizes

Today, I was listening to KRMG 740 radio out of Tulsa and someone was reading first, a significant weather advisory, and then a severe thunderstorm warning for Rogers County. Residents were warned to expect "heavy sized hail". I can't imagine that the NWS issued the statements with that wording, at least I hope that it was a "rip and read" error by the news talent.

It appears that "heavy sized hail", actually means "penny" sized as the wording of the warning was clarified some time before it expired.
