To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all,
I am having a problem figuring out a channel spacing problem I have on my NX-300.
I am wanting to insert frequency 466.5825 MHz in a channel but the program reverts it to 466.5800.
I have the channel set to narrow, it will accept 466.58125 & 466.58375 MHz but will not go to 466.5825.
Anyone have advice for me as I am not figuring this out.
I have attached my file for viewing, the channel I am trying to make work is Ch.9 in Zone 1
Thanks in advance

Thanks to you all, maybe I am hearing 466.58125 on my Uniden 396T scanner that shows 466.5825.
I was wondering why the Kenwood radio wouldn't tune it, I probably should leave that channel
set to 466.58125 and see if I ever hear them. Problem is the sheriff deputy's only use that channel as a unit to unit
when on site at an incident. You have to be close to them to listen when they do switch over to it.

Again thanks to you all for the input.

If the scanner was set to wide FM, then it was probably close enough to the frequency to hear it.

I took a quick look through the FCC database for the State of Tennessee and looked for
466.5825 as well as 466.58125 and 466.5875

No licenses on those first two frequencies, but a few radio shops running on 466.5875MHz, as well as other business type users. If the Sheriff is using one of the radio shops, that might explain it.

If they are using it 'under the table', all bets are off, so trying 466.575, 466.58125 or 466.5875 would be worth it.
