• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

NX-3320 still says "Unprogram"

Quick question, not sure if its programming related or something with the radio. I have the software and it is licensed properly as far as I can tell, configured the software on how I want my radio to be programmed with channels, and the buttons. I am able to write to the radio and it goes though its process and says "Writing completed" when its done, however when the radio reboots after programming is pushed, it still says "unprogram" on the screen.

I have tried 2 different cables with the same result. I can read the radio from the software if I check the Product Information.

I double checked my license in LMC client and it shows I am licensed for the software.

I know there is a bit of a learning curve with KPG-D3N compared to other versions that I am familiar with like KPG 111, KPG 101, and KPG-D6N, but not sure if I have missed something else that might require additional configuration. I did a bit of google searching however information seems to be a bit.... non existent.

Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Radio info and software for those wondering:
Kenwood NX-3320 K2
Firmware K 4.00.00
KPG-D3N FPU Version 4.10

I did find a similar post for someone else having similar issue with a different radio, however they were using older firmware and I think were successful after updating it. Referenced post link below.

As far as I can tell, my radio seems to be on the latest firmware.

If anyone has an idea of what might be happening, or what I would need to do to get this radio working, would be appreciated.

Please and thank you.

Thank you for the info.

Did not know that was a thing. Well with older style radios I vaguely remember doing something similar. I have made the changes but cant push the programming as i remoted onto the computer from home to make the adjustments. Once I'm in front of the radio tomorroe I will attempt to load it and let you know how it goes.

So now that I am in front of my radio, you were right about the zones. Once I added those in, the channels all show up now. I did not think about that. I know with older radios like TK-880 as an example, the zone needed to be configured before creating the channels. A little different in this case with newer software.

Thank you for your help.
