    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

NX-5300 Alert Tone on NXDN Group ID Not Working ?

I've been struggling with this for a day now. I'm new to Kenwood programming, so I'm probably missing something basic...

I have a conventional NXDN system and I need the portables (NX-5300s) to sound a brief alert tone anytime a specific mobile (NX-3820) transmits. I have it configured so the 5300s show the correct Group ID when the portable transmits. I also have it configured (as I would think) to give an alert tone for this Group ID, but it doesn't work.

Here are what I'm thinking are the relevant settings:

I was under the impression this would mute the audio until the Group ID was received if I select this on the receiving radios.

I have it enabled on the one transmit radio that needs to set off the alerts.

Is this correct?
