NX800 will not select channels

It's me again.
Helping a friend set up a NX800 for GMRS and 70cm, which I'm NOT fimilar with at all. ANyhow, his radio will allow him to select the zones,but not the channels within the zones? I'm going over his .dat file and cannot find anything wrong with it at all. It's making the control beep like it should be changing channels, but nothing is happening.
Any ideas off the top of your head?

Let me edit this by saying that the radio is TX/RX on all channels, and you can hear the rollover tone so it is selecting the channels, but just not displaying them. It only displays zone name

A couple of things to check:

Optional Features 1:
Common Page 1,
Display Format: CH/GID Name

Optional Features 1:
Common Page 1,
Zone-name Text Length: Make sure it's either set to "none" or something that leaves enough space for the channel names.

hmm.. I know the first setting is legit. The 2nd he has set at 14 characters. Definitely about to try this!
