I received a new 436 today and after updating the firmware I purchased the NXDN key. How do I enter the key into the 436 and then how do I verify that it's there?

On the scanner:

Press Menu (the bottom button on the left side)
On the Menu opening screen, scroll down to Settings (the last item), and with Settings highlighted, press the E (yes/enter) key
On the Settings menu, scroll down to Upgrade & select it by pressing E again.

On the Upgrade menu, choose which upgrade you are doing, and with it highlighted (selected) press E aian.

Enter the key using the scanner's keypad. Enter all characters- letters, numbers, as well as the '-' (dashes) between the groups of letters/numbers of the key.
DO NOT press E until you have entered the complete key. If you press E before all of the key is entered, you'll get an error warning for 'invalid key.

Be sure and look at the key closely; the way the characters are grouped can fool you into making a typo.

Once you have correctly entered the key, and pressed enter, you'll see a brief pause as it is being applied.

To verify that the key was entered & the feature activated, go back to the Settings menu & choose Upgrade again.
When you try to go back to enter a key, you'll get a message that it has already been applied.

Lots and lots of posts on this. Enter the key using the rotary to select the character dashes includes. 6 moves you right, 4 moves you left. The key will overrun the right edge but keep going. Hit enter at the end and you’re good.

You can verify it by going back in to activate. You’ll be told it’s done already.
