Rome Fire and Police are now listed under Rome Public Safety.
They are using a NXDN NEXEDGE trunk system.
Will the HP-1 be able to get their system?

No. Currently, no scanner made will decode that type of system.

Your only solution at current is an SDR running DSD.

SDR = Software Defined Radio
DSD = Digital Speech Decoder

(Sigh! Obviously Voyager's English teacher is not nearby! Should always define the abbreviation first for the readers, and once defined, can continue using only acronyms.)

If you're monitoring other systems, this method will quickly become hardware resource intensive. And is moderately resource intensive if you're only monitoring NXDN systems.

Or put a discriminator tap into an old scanner, then run DSD - same idea, different source...Mike

What's a "discriminator tap"?

Obviously, that's a joke. But, common terms such as SDR and DSD should not need defined. If there is any question on what they are, there is Google or the RR WIKI. Oh, maybe I need to define WIKI.... :D And Google... :D And RR... :D

Oh, and my English teachers never said it's not appropriate to use common acronyms. That, is, AFAIK.
Now, if you will notice RR even defines that one if you hover on it. Maybe you could submit a list for them to add, Rog.

One has not the time to properly explain things when one feels the need to reply to every thread. ;)
