Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello,

Can the PF keys on the front of the NXR-810 be programmed for DTMF Autodial? I tried to look in the programming software a long while ago and I can't remember seeing it at first glance.

Preferably, I'd love to have ONE specific DTMF code assigned to each different PF key, but even if I can access the list and press/select up/down that would be cool too

The only time the NXR will encode DTMF is the transpond response to either remote control of the PF keys or activation of the aux I/Os.

short cut way, get a KMC-66 dtmf mic, manual dial.
I actually tried this and wasn't able to transmit to other radios, even just voice. Maybe I had a bad mic, but just plugging in the mic and attempting to talk, I wasn't able to transmit. Are there any settings required to permit that in repeater mode?

USUALLY, when you do that, your just local PTT, check your ptt priority in the settings.
(dont have 129 on this pc to show you)

Does a NXR even decode the keypad serial data from the mic and know what to do with it? I don't know the answer. You may have to fall back to an older mic with a DTMF audio encoder hooked to the mic hi line, like a KMC-32.

Hiding in a coffee shop.
Looking at the indepth manual, there is a way to use one of the external inputs on the DB-25 to trigger sending a DTMF string.

They do not show a DTFM mic option, however.

You could set up an external trigger, or just add an external DTMF sender.

I think en external sender may be the way I'd have to go, but I have no clue where to start looking for something like that.

I know it's off-topic but if anyone has ideas, I'd love to talk! :)
