Hey.. I work at Arinc NY Comm center. We do mostly HF USB comms that span the entire WATRS area and over the N and S Atlantic. As well as globally with our LDOCF sites for company traffic. I do not have a station or any equipment for that matter of my own due to the fact that I do this 40-50 hours a week and it takes its toll on your ears after a while(insert laughter)... The main reason I started this thread is I have been looking through the posts and I have seen alot of people who listen to the AERO freqs and say they have heard some nasty people working our frequencies and also some nasty pilots. Just curious to get some feedback on what you have heard and get some funny stories that would give a different perspective...

Well, I haven't monitored the ARINC frequencies for too long, but I think last summer some evening I was listening to Gander, and the male op was started to get really testy with aircraft that weren't following his directions (multiple aircraft all trying to talk on top of one another, none of them following his directions to stand by, etc.)

It was kind of funny for me to listen to, but I felt sorry for the guy!

BTW, thanks for joining and posting here--it'll be very cool for us to get the perspective of one of the guys behind the mic!

I listen a lot to ARINC, neat to hear some of the unusual flights in the air. Most of the operators are first class, extremely professional and they get the job done well. I'm sure you read my post of 4/6/2011 in another thread, as you replied to that thread recently, about the one pilot I heard that was real nasty. That was very surprising, and very rare. There is one NY operator that just seems to, well, lets just say he could improve his disposition. That's OK, Gander has one too. :)

There was one lady that used to say goodby to many foreign flights using the native language of the pilot. That was kind of neat, haven't heard her in a while though.
