Then am I using the correct M to B Frequency of 154.935 for Zone 2, I don't have a scanner that captures the PL. Should I input a different frequency?

You're only going to hear something on the mobile frequency if the troop car is nearby. You'll always hear much more activity on the base frequencies.

It's also a good idea to listen to the mobile frequency without a PL. You don't need to program it four times like it's listed in the database, just program it once without a PL and it'll scan faster and pick up transmissions faster regardless of the PL in use.

NYSP Troop F 155.535/145.935/154.665

Hi, Brain--You have the correct frequencies...the 154.935 is PL 110.9 and they are starting to PL all of the base to car frequencies now as I write to you. I am in Lower Westchester County in New York and this side of the Hudson River is Troop K also known as TMC out of Hawthorne. Most car to base and car to car are 110.9. Also, the mobile is simplex so if your not close by..you wonb't hear it like Chauffeur6 told you at 8:54AM.If I can help you with anything else...advise?

the 154.935 is PL 110.9

Most car to base.......are 110.9.

Hi Bob,

110.9 on 154.935 Car to Base is for non-NYSP units only (local PD who are authorized to use the NYSP radio system), it is not the common PL for NYSP Troop cars. Each Troop is broken up into zones, each zone has a different PL for Car to Base. They are listed in the database. For the Orange County area Brian is in, that is Zone 2 which uses a 146.2 PL on Car to Base.

Base to Car are now using a 110.9 PL statewide.

has anyone confirmed that the 800mhz pacrat/mobile repeaters in use in troop F & K i have had them in for the last few months driving thru Rockland to Columbia Counties and have not heard them in use?

I have no idea if they are actually using them (they'd need to be carrying 800 MHz portables, which I have not seen), but in all honesty it's pretty pointless monitoring those frequencies. They are putting out such lower power that you have to be pretty close to the troop car to hear anything, and all they would be doing is rebroadcasting the base frequencies anyway. If you are close enough to hear a low powered 800 MHz frequency, you are certainly close enough to hear the bases and mobiles directly on VHF.

Truthfully, I wasn't even going to bother adding them to the database, but I did so that if anyone hears activity on them and comes here to search for usage, they will be able to find them and make sense of what they are hearing. Actually scanning them actively, though, accomplishes nothing.
