Ny state Police troop G

Hi Can someone tell what Im doing wrong? I have programed all the frequencies for NEW YORK State police Troop G and im still missing most of the replies.I even went so far as to put all the frequincies for NY Stae Police in my Radio just in case i missed one for troop g and still Im missing replies to Dispatch.HELP!!!

I don't live there, but it appears from the database that it's a VHF high band conventional system. If the mobile units aren't repeated, then it's little wonder that you miss replies. The base stations transmit with more power and from much higher antennas, making them
much easier to hear than mobile units, which might be transmitting with only 50-100 watts of power, and may be too far away from your location to hear.

The frequencies listed in the database for Troop G are correct. It sounds like you have to long of a delay programmed in your scanner. There should be no delay programmed for 155.445 and 154.680. The dispatch transmits on 155.445 and the mobiles respond back on 154.680, so if you have a delay programmed in you will miss the other half of the conversation.

Also, a lot of the Troop G troopers are also dispatched by the County Sheriff. So make sure you have the Sheriff's frequencies programmed in also.

This is true.. You might be missing the replies from the mobile units simply because your scanner isn't picking them up. What type of antenna and scanner are you using? Try an external antenna mounted as high as possible.
