Here on the eastern part of LI we are seeing (well, hearing) fighters persumably from NYANG at Republic Airport. Does anybody know where they would be from a frequencies perspective?

Searching 138-144 mhz ought to be fruitful; many ANG units use that range. I wouldn't ignore the Milcom blog at MT, nor the Milcom list on QTH.net either as sources of information.

The milcom freqs for Newark and JFK ought to be checked as well - as they traverse their airspace, chances are they just might announce follow on frequencies....best regards..Mike

Combat air patrols

Guys; Here are some previous freqs used by Combat Air Patrols. 364.2 Norad primary-callsign Huntress, 260.9 Primary(used at Shanksville today), 228.9, 271.0, 320.6, 324.0, 362.3. Don't forget 121.5 where the military will call the civilian a/c if airspace is violated and 243.0 the military emergency freq.

I'd all but forgotten about this - these were pulled from the NF2G website for the migration - how accurate they are I have no idea (particularly with all the BRAC changes), but it's a place to start

NY Military freqs- the RR Wiki

best regards..Mike

106th Air National Guard out of Westhampton uses 251.900 AM
The Primary Huntress frequency of 260.900 was active yesterday.

Is was reported in MT's March 2011 issue on Page 53 that the DoD uses 138.000 - 150.800 Mhz (minus the Amateur Radio area of 144-148 Mhz) with 12.5kHz spacing using Amplitude Modulation (AM). This may be a searchbank you might want to setup for today.

I've also been unable to confirm rumors that CAP may also use the Inter-Squad Radio (ISR) Frequencies.

As I understand it, those freqs are akin to the civilian FRS/GMRS - used with low power handhelds and the like...best regards..Mike

There's a report in the Maryland milcom sticky thread that the a/a for this op, at least for now, is 138.75

MUDDY 11 & 12 (TOL F-16's) & SWATH 05 (Tanker)
260.900 HUNTRESS, & A/A chatter, 09:53am. Ops check (Fuel), 09:57am.

Unknown what direction they are heading right now. Most likely heading for the East Coast.

I think this was a Chicago CAP. I was still hearing them once in awhile.

Just had a quick CAP over Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) by MUDDY 21 & 22 (TOL F-16's). It only lasted about 15 min before they were told to RTB.
