FDNY EMS units have identifiers that coincide with the battalion thety're assigned to. For example, the paramedic units out of Our Lady of Mercy on 233rd Street in the Bronx, under EMS, were 24V and I think 24X. Now they are 15V and 15X, which coincides with Battalion 15. You might be able to google an FDNY map.

Come on let's really show our age..remember when Our Lady of Mercy was (mispelled probably) Misericordia Hospital?
What I don't understand is, with FDNY EMS being a city organization,why involve a private OLOM hosp. with North Central Bronx (city hospital) up on "the hill" a mile or so away? Or is it in a different Battalion?

Take the map in the link you offered above and print it out. Once you have the printout in your hand click on http://www.n2nov.net/emscodes.html Scroll about two thirds of the way down until you see the caption "EMS Zones as related to NYPD Precincts" Check the right hand column where you'll find the heading "BROOKLYN." Pull out your highlighters and pick a color; say, yellow. On the map you printed in step one of this process, color in all the precincts in yellow listed under the sub-heading "South." Now, with your pink highlighter, color in all the precincts listed under the sub-heading "Central." Repeat, with your green highlighter, for the precincts under "North." After letting the whole thing dry off you'll have a nice visual representation of what constitutes EMS BN, BC, and BS. Needless to say, the same process can be repeated for each of the boroughs, giving one an excellent citywide view.

vsny, I do remember Misericordia...used to call it Our Lady of Misery...I do believe 15V is in a different battalion. Misery isn't the only private 911 hospital...St Vinnies, Cabrini in Manhattan turned out medic units as well.
