04-052 BG PTRL...I previously logged NYCOMCO LID numbers on this TG, but recent LIDs and voices confirm BG units are back testing 800. LID 4559 is the base "630" and I've logged LIDS of 6871, 6872, 6873 and 6874. One of the units was calling on Schunnemunk (as he identified) and testing from the Galleria area and it was repeated over Beacon.

Thanks pro92b.

I'm just wondering what will NYCOMCO do once they do away with edacs?? Will they still have all this linked when they plan on replacing it with turbo?

Illinois tower log for June 3

04-021
04-023
04-037
04-116 (affiliation only)

Five channels still inactive but no QUEUED or SYS BUSY logged so the site is not being overloaded.

Very unlikely that NYCOMCO would put all this effort and expense into networking the EDACS system only to replace it with Mototrbo.

Logged talkgroup 04-061 last night which was the old Town of Crawford talkgroup before they went to a UHF LTR system. LID 3646 affiliated. Looks like Crawford, like Blooming Grove, may begin using the system again. If so, expect Beacon and Sam's Point to be linked on their talkgroup due to coverage issues in the past.

Today I thought I heard Village of Chester 318 testing with Orange 911 on the POLICE talkgroup. Not a big deal since the cars already have 800 radios and they use it for chit-chat off the Sam's Point tower. But it may lead to a switch from VHF MRD if they are doing tests. He could of said 638...I didn't get the LID. But I wanted to throw it out there for others to keep their ears open.

Also, heard Fire Cooordinator 36-01 on a new talkgroup of 05-036 talking to an unknown LID. He was also using the FIRECRD talkgroup of 04-007 which now appears to be linked, at least on Beacon, Graham and Arden.

FIRE 800 is linked up on Beacon, Arden and Graham. Was just listening to Middlehope units off all three sites.

And a few keyups on the old Village of Monroe 04-094 talkgroup. They still have all their old channels and 800 radios in the cars. I don't expect them to switch at all.

I'm sure the 4th of July might show some LIDS not normally used, so I'll keep my ears open while I enjoy some frosty beverages. Happy Birthday America !!!!

Its about time they patched Dutchess County POLICE 1 to Beacon tower, never understood why they didn't do that in the first place.

You aint kiddin...."It's about time..." can apply to ALOT of things they are doing finally.

I was told there was a patch on 03-091 over on Illinois as well. I can't hear that system though if anyone can confirm that.

KC2OBW...are you getting any more Orange County traffic over Illinois? I'm showing SO PTRL, SO TAC and OC POLICE are patched through there...and possibly INTERSYSTEM.

03-091 has been on Illinois for a long time. There are lots of affiliations from Orange Co. now and some of the sheriff groups transmit on illinois regularly. The attachment shows all the group logs for the past two weeks or so.

Thanks pro92b. I still haven't been able to confirm whether the plan is to have the radio automatically affiliate to the nearest site based on RSSI sampling once all the reprogramming begins, or if the user has to manually select the site. I was told by several users in the field that they still have to select which site they want to transmit on as of now and it's just repeated over the others.

I haven't really been monitoring, all my equipment is commercial stuff, I haven't used an actual scanner in a while, I was planning on taking my 94 and adding a tap to it so I can set up unitrunker here in my QTH but I can't remember for the life of me where I put it.

Unitrunker logged peer sites (neighboring sites) as listed below.

Poughkeepsie (site 1): 2, 3, 8
Ellenville (site 3): 1, 6, 8
Beacon (site 2): 1, 6, 8
Schunnemunk (site 8): 2, 3, 6

Graham is not receivable here, Kingston and Millbrook do not show any peer sites in the log. After a day of logging Millbrook has been silent, no traffic at all.

Town of Woodbury/Village of Harriman PD PATROL 04-111 is linked on Beacon, Arden (primary) and Schunnemunk now. Harriman's Tac 04-115 is linked on Arden and Schunnemunk.

V/Chester PD VWIDE 04-046 is linked on Sam's Point (primary) and Schunnemunk now.

I'm told Cornwall and Cornwall on Hudson PD BASE 4 talkgroup (04-150) will be linked on Beacon (primary), Schunnemunk and Arden in the near future.

pro92b...or anyone...I need to confirm whether or not units that have multiple sites are manually selecting the sire they want to transmit on OR if the radio is automatically affiliating by RSSI sampling.
