Well, there's really only one way to find out.How is the P25 signal off these towers? Is it traveling as far as the EDACS? I get moderate signal off EDACS where I am in Orange County, mostly off Mt. Beacon. Curious how I will do with P25. Probably not good.
I had a feeling you'd say that. 😆Well, there's really only one way to find out.
No, I do not have the P25 system loaded yet. Was just a general inquiry.Have you compared the signal strength of the Beacon EDACS control channel vs the P25 control channel? It really is that simple getting a sense of any difference between the two.
Are they using the EDACS migration gateway? Usually the audio sounds grainy but no worse than using SmartX to convert smartzone to P25.The patch sounds awful, which is to be expected when you patch an analog resource to a digital system.
Unlikely judging by the poor audio, where you can hear every artifact from the EDACS system. Not even sure the gateway is available for a Tait system. Are they using the EDACS migration gateway? Usually the audio sounds grainy but no worse than using SmartX to convert smartzone to P25.
According to my Unitrunker, from my location, Beacon EDACS is about -20 RSSI, and Beacon P25 is about -25 RSSI.How is the P25 signal off these towers? Is it traveling as far as the EDACS? I don't think they are using the EDACS Migration Gateway. That's proprietary to Harris Systems. This is a Tait system. Are they using the EDACS migration gateway? Usually the audio sounds grainy but no worse than using SmartX to convert smartzone to P25.
