NYPD citywide 1 and NYPD citywide 2.

There have been numerous demonstrations every day in NYC involving the Middle East crisis.

Crowd control and enforcement has usually taken place on NYPD citywide 1 and citywide 2 frequencies.

I have listened over the last few days and have heard none of this activity on those channels.

Has NYPD moved this activity to other frequencies or possibly encrypted frequencies?

Even with demonstrations going on sometimes there isn't much chatter. They did have a demonstration on Citywide 4 the other day which is of course E.

Because, when a boss comes on another channel, and tells another boss, "Switch to Citywide 4, encrypted," we tend to take their word for it.

Besides, just about anyone who actually follows the NYPD knows...and has known....that Citywide 4 is encrypted.
