nypd on a vx-7r?

Going to nyc this weekend, wondering if anyone has scanned nypd with a yaesu vx7r before, and did it work with the stock ant, or would another work better?

Someone stole my 396 a month ago and the 7r was all that i brought up here with me

You should be fine with the vx-7r and stock ant.

Used my Vx-5r there for years, should have no problem with the Vx-7r at all. Stock antenna worked fine.

worked like a charm, all weekend from the hotel pennsylvania, and selected areas in brooklyn including coney island at the cyclones game last night.
even worked on the d-train coming down new utrecht to stillwell ave.
