Thats it so far. They piggyback/use for communications with other agencies as needed. I spoke with a MTA person and stated that for them to use many of the other systems anytime soon would be a small feat...as the equipment isn't installed in most vehicles anyways.

They want to, but its that funding thing that gets in the way.

I know this is getting a little off topic but has the MTA done anything to upgrade their current VHF system?

From a thread about NYS SWN 800 licenses, to talking about VHF railroad frequencies...ya think? :roll:

I should have reworded my question With the MTA PD possibly obtaining 800 MHz licenses would they still put money into their legacy system. Its a relevant question. The question that I asked had nothing to do with the railroad but with the MTA PD which is what I thought the other people earlier in the thread were discussing.

I apologize for asking a question that was off topic.
