"What does this have to do with any form of radio communications?"
You should ask why the OP asked what the NYSP were doing in NYPF turf. He did question that, and I responded to that question.
If you don't like opinions and feel they are improper, the forum asks you to contact the moderators and not to take that role on yourself. You may find that internet forums are a place for FORUMS and OPINIONS and not simply technical posts. If you want tech support, and nothing else, you may be in the wrong place. Or perhaps not, but that's something for the moderators and admins to decide, not you.

Ok let's start with your original opinion

"NYPD doesn't lime to talk about it and frequently denies it ever happened, but in the Tamany Hall days the governor of NY actually called in the State Militia to arrest the mayor AND SHUT DOWN the NYC "Metropolitans", the first PD in NYC. That's right, the original "NYPD" has shut down for corruption and replaced, lock stock and barrel."

That was over 100 years ago. 100 years ago. Nothing like being current.

"And the NYPD has had corruption problems, scandals, and other issues including ticket quotas, profiling, some of the worst firearms training in the nation. Ask any gunsmith what an "NYPD trigger job" on a Glock is all about."

Yes there has been corruption, ticket quota? Maybe you mean the ticket fixing scandal? Cops are against ticket quotas. They don't like to write summons.
Firearm training, are you a certified firearms instructor? Have you ever been thru the training? Do you know that their are over 38,000 armed members of the service. Do you know how many accidental discharges there are a year? Less than 10 a year. They NYPD has one of the most restrictive use of force policies in the country. Don't believe what the media tells you. As far as the NYPD trigger job you speak of: it's a 12 pounds of force trigger pull, the Glocks have problems with the trigger. None of the other firearms have the problem.

"When we call them NYC's Finest that just means we couldn't find any better"

Wow never heard that one either. Gimme a break.

"OTOH, the State Troopers will point out that their standards and professionalism are pitched to a higher level. Not that they are perfect--but if you thought there was a leak within the NYPD or in a particular precinct, and you wanted to bring in outside players to do a major raid, using the Troopers makes perfect sense. Nothing unusual or improper about that."

So are you in the know or just speculating here. If the troopers "do a raid" or as it is properly called execute a warrant, wether it's a search or arrest warrant if they investigate it on their own they will execute it their own. They may notify the local precinct to give them a heads up as they are about to execute it. Do you really think a Commanding Officer of a precinct or specialized unit is going to skip the chain of command or not notify IAB and go to the state Police if they suspect something is askew under their command?

"Over the years, I have *twice* made a left turn, with a green light, on a 4-lane two-way street. Only to find an NYPD vehicle with no lights or sirens coming right at me, against traffic. That's illegal unless they are on code, and plain STUPID at any time. I have located a car stolen during an armed robbery, two hours after NYPD supposedly began looking, parked with engine cold in a "No Standing Tow Away" zone in a prominent location that was regularly patrolled, with a BOLO out on the car. "

On a code? What is that? Maybe they were responding to crime in progress, perhaps even a burglary in progress and they had no lights or siren going to catch the criminals? Or perhaps responding to a gun run and I don't know maybe not wanting to give advanced warning to someone who might have a gun and want to shoot them?
Now on to your parked robbery getaway car bit. Did you call 911? Have you any idea how much info a cop on patrol has to process every tour? Maybe it was in another radio zone and they didn't hear the BOLO. Perhaps a plain clothes unit had found the vehicle and were "sitting" on it waiting for the criminals to come back to the car so they could make an arrest?

"There are a number of underpaid overworked honest and good people working on the NYPD, but also, sadly, enough bullies and bozos to make them less than they ought to be. (And of course, that's not unique to the NYPD, either.)"

Underpaid absolutely. Overworked absolutely. Honest and good people some of the best in the world at what they do.
Bully's and Bozo's sure but a small percentage then most people think.

Let me ask you this, are you law enforcement or simply some troll buff keyboard commando who trolls message boards spouting out opinions for something you have never done.

The men and women of the NYPD do things every day that most people wouldn't believe they don't ask for praise or glory or worship. They just wanna go home at the end of the day.

Gents, let's remember the OP's original question and keep the replies on-topic.

Thanks.
