NYSP & OEM 220 mhz use

What is the intent/ use of the 220 system in the State, will mode be AM/ssb ? or FM?

Last i knew all 220 mhz license's in Ny were scraped ......more money wasted

I brought this question up last year and didn't really get an answer. I see that they have renewed many of the licenses for these as of recently.

Its an typical blanket renewal of any FCC license the guy in the offices finds. Most agencies don't really pay attention to whats what. They just see an notice that its renew time, and renew. Look at most states/counties FCC licenses that went through renewal and narrowbanding. They narrowbanded every freq on the lic, regardless of if it was applicable or not. VHF Low Band with the narrow band emissions designators.... You will see a lot of "dead" info in FCC licenses until you get an hawk in position to go through the tons of crud and fix it.

Sadly, you're right. And I chalk this up to the fact that the licenses are free to renew. If the Commission was charging these governmental agencies renewal fees for their licenses, you'd see a lot of this crap cleaned up - no one wants to get billed for something they aren't using.
