NYSP troop K on 155.505 and 154.92

I drove the Taconic almost to Albany from Westchester and only heard NYSP base and cars once in 2 hours,,, have they moved Freqs?

I don't believe that they have changed frequencies, however, nowadays they do a lot of silent dispatching over the in car computers (AVL), and receive a lot of assignments over the county frequencies ie. 155.415 in Dutchess

MDB = Computers (dispatching and car -car / trooper-trooper e-mail)

Yes in the "normal" world you are correct. BUT, the Division of State Police (at least in Troop B and G) routinely lump them together as "AVL". You will often hear COMSEC say, "I have sent the call or SJS to your AV"L. Or Trooper to Trooper, "check your AVL for a message" or "I sent a text to his AVL".
