The NJSP is on the 800 MHz Motorola system, which is the older analog system. The only site you need to scan for that system is B11D-011 "North Simulcast". You will not receive any other site, nor do you need to.

The NJ 700 MHz system is the P25 Phase II system. Some talkgroups are still FDMA, although most are TDMA so you need a Phase II scanner to get the most from that system. There are two sites in Sussex County for that system: High Point (26) and Walpack (27), both of which are receivable from your area in Pike County. There's not a whole lot of traffic on either site, and the talkgroups won't necessarily be heard on both site. It depends on what radios are affiliated with what talkgroups on which sites.

No, Port Jervis has a repeater. NYSP does not use repeaters, which is why you only hear the base talking.

That's exactly what it is, a duplex system. I stated that in reply #6, and it explains that on the NYSP database page.

You should search the database to find stuff like that. You're a premium subscriber, you have access to all of the search stuff. You would find the answer very quickly on your own if you had, that it's Orange County's 911 Priority channel.

It's a countywide police polling channel.

This thread has strayed so far off the original topic. You really ought to start a new thread if you want to ask specifics about other topics that are unrelated.

The Thruway is covered by Troop T, operating on the Thruway's UHF system.

I-84 and the southern end of Rt 17 in Orange County are covered by Troop F Zone 2, operating on VHF.

Once you cross into Rockland on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, Troop F Haverstraw takes over coverage on Rockland's 700 MHz trunked system.

Looks good, but instead of having 154.935 repeated four times with different PL tones, put it in once as CSQ and you'll hear any PL being used. Less frequencies being scanned = faster scanning.

You didn't include the Thruway frequencies 453.425/453.525 (same signal transmitted on both; frequencies alternate radio towers along the highway) and 458.525 car-to-car

If scanning speed is a concern, you might as well get rid of NYSP Tac in the mode you have it in. Tactical traffic in Troop F is now passed in digital mode, with a NAC of $917.

Don't bother, KC2zZe failed to mention that it's encrypted (as noted in the database, which I assume you checked, right?)
