According to all he emails I've received, Edmond Central Communications is scheduled to move all fire operations for Oak Cliff Fire Protection District over to their State 800 MHz talkgroups sometime today.

According to their emails, the tones will continue to go out over State Fire (154.130). The units will respond on 6A OC FG-1. When responding into Edmond, they will run on Edmond's talkgroups. Vice versa when Edmond comes to Oak Cliff.

All OCFPD vehicles will continue to have both 800 and VHF's in them.

Are firefighters going to carry 800's or VHF's? And if they are 800's, how are they going to communicate with everyone except Edmond?

Oak Cliff 800

Firefighters will continue to carry their Minitors on VHF for toning out. All officers and all trucks have both VHF and 800 portables in them.

Your guess is as good as mine. I assume they'll talk to VHF'ers on the VHF's and Edmond on the 800's.

Deer Creek should be 800 by this time next year so that will solve one department.
Woodcrest I doubt will be 800 anytime soon, but that's just an assumption.
Same with Guthrie.

As far as your comments regarding Woodcrest and Guthrie F.D.'s I agree about G.F.D. not going 800Mhz for quite some time...keep an eye out for Woodcrest to make the move sooner than you think. Don't forget they have "New found riches" now that they are a title 19 department. This is just speculation, not an inside source.

True

You're right about Woodcrest. I just don't see Bobby and Chris really wanting to worry about it quite yet. With truck issues and station issues and all. Maybe they can work on a grant next year and upgrade. Problem is, they'd just be using it as a mutual aid thing I think. I don't think Edmond will pick them up as far as dispatching. Just opinions and assumptions so don't hold any fact to it.

I hear you. Also, the fact that Edmond dispatches Oak Cliff right now causes plenty of SNAFUS due to the way the 911 call center is set up in Logan County (Guthrie P.D. actually). The whole thing would work alot better if there were someway to co-ordinate the Logan County fire and L.E. agency's better than they are now. I don't know the answer though? Guthrie certainly doesn't have the resources...and letting the L.C.S.O. do it? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL NO WAY....

Logan Co.

Oh yes. That subject was a heated topic yesterday at a meeting in Edmond. ACOG, DCFD, OCFD, GFD, Cashion FD/EMS and Edmond communications all met and we discussed that very item. GPD and LCSO won't come to terms with an agreement on centralizing so until they do, I guess things won't change. Also, I'll tell you this for sure. Oak Cliff would NEVER go for anyone in LoCo dispatching them. They just won't do it. At least under Kenny's rule.
