You got the gist. Oakwood used to share frequency with either Bedford or BH, can't remember which at the moment. But the comment is they were on their seperate talkgroup. Why not keep it or get another? Why clutter the the BH talkgroup with another department? Doesn't matter where it's dispatched from. It's just addresses in bit land. And fire is now on BH fire talkgroup as well. Oakwood interacts more with Bedford than BH, at least PD does.I don’t fully understand your comment. You said go back to analog and share frequencies. In essence that’s what they’re doing now but from one dispatch center. One dispatcher for Oakwood. One for Bedford hts. They border each other and the FDs auto aid a certain area so why not. Walton Hills still dispatches their own PD from their station on the previous Oakwood/WH talkgroup. Fire is done by Oakwood fire as it has been for a few years. Bedford PD may go digital one day, but current admin likes analog. I’m have no idea what your Garfield radio comment means
Yes I saw this when I was searching Oakwood before I posted here. I have heard Oakwood units go off onto another channel and so I'm going to put that talkgroup in and see what I hear. Thanks for that. (By the way BH PD is 56639 not 99)During the plant explosion last week I did log a new TG 56640. I thought it was a Ch-2 for Bedford Hts since there TG is 56699 but looking at the ID's 1845759-1845767-1845763 according to the WIKI they belong to Oakland Village PD units.
Generally, agencies are combined onto a single talkgroup to make it easier on the dispatcher. Even with two dispatchers, the more talkgroups they have to monitor the more difficult the job becomes. Having been a dispatcher for 23 years, I can tell you anything that makes the job easier is welcome. But the comment is they were on their seperate talkgroup. Why not keep it or get another? Thanks. That would explain why. It just seemed like a semi-step backwards and I was wondering why. Less dispatcher workload would equal better, safer, faster response.Generally, agencies are combined onto a single talkgroup to make it easier on the dispatcher.
